What are the different LLM programmes that the Faculty of Law offers?

The Faculty of Law offers three kinds of LLM programmes. One is two (2) years LLM Programme and another is three (3) years LLM programmes. Apart from these Faculty of Law also offers a 3 years Master in Comparative Law (MCL) Degree Programme to foreign students.

How many seats are available for admission in DU LLM?

The numbers of seats slightly vary each year. But, most of the years LLM two-year course has around 70 seats and LLM three-year course has around 60 seats.

What is the process of admission in the LLM course from Faculty of Law, Delhi University?

Delhi University grants admission to students on the basis of merit. An entrance exam is conducted by the University and admission is granted on the basis of scores obtained in the entrance examination followed by counseling.

What is the eligibility criterion for admission in the LLM course?

For admission in LLM Course, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

1. A Three year/Five-year LLB Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi.
2. Candidates appearing in the qualifying degree examination are also eligible to appear in the LLM Entrance Test.
3. No candidate on the rolls of LLM or ex-student of any University shall be allowed to take admission in the LLM course unless they get their admission canceled.
4. For Unreserved and EWS Category candidates at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate in the qualifying degree examination.
5. For SC/ST/OBC/CW/PwD Category Candidates at least 45% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate in the qualifying degree Examination.

Is there any age bar to appear in the entrance exam for LLM?

There is no age bar to appear in the exam as per the order of the Supreme Court of India.

Can I Continue my job while pursuing LLM?

The LLM Two-year Degree Course is a full-time Course meant for those who are not employed or engaged in any trade, profession, business, or occupation. At the time of admission to LLM Two-year Course, the student shall submit an affidavit in the prescribed form to the effect that he/she is not employed or engaged in any gainful work or employment.
LLM Three-year Course is conducted in the evening and the students of this course do not have to submit the aforesaid affidavit.
